The mystery blogger award

So I got tagged for this award a crazy long time ago but I’ve only now found the time to write so I decided to just do the tag! I was tagged by Shay-lon. She has an amazing blog which you can read by clicking on the link. I was tagged for the mistery blogger award.

Some information about this tag:
“Mystery Blogger Award” is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.

The rules: I did some alterations on the rules but here they are!

  • Display the award logo on your blog.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

  • Answer 5 questions from the nominee.

  • Notify your nominees by leaving a comment on their blog.

  • Share the link to your best post.

3 Things about me
– I still haven’t got my drivers license even though I can actually drive.
– My favorite food is a pita. You don’t often see pitas in America, but if you do definitely try it!
– I love reading a lot!

My best post: the medical tag! I came up with this tag and it has traveled around the world. Definitely check this tag out by clicking on the link and if you want to do the medical tag here you can find the questions on my blog!

The questions I received from Shay-lon.

  1. Favorite kind of ice cream?
I have a huge thing for ice cream. Since I couldn’t choose just one favorite here’s my are my favorites
    -Nut ice cream (chestnut, hazelnut,…)
    -Butterscotch ice cream
If you give me any of these I will be forever grateful!
  2. Do you prefer to cook or bake?
I love anything that has to do with food so I’d say both.
  3. Have you ever went skinny dipping?
No, I’d be too worried about bacterias in the water. Seriously though, how is this not a concern!
  4. How do you find ideas/topics to write about in your blog?
I’m actually pretty creative which makes it a lot easier for me to find something to write about and if I don’t find anything to write about I just make something new.
  5. Who is your celebrity crush?
I honestly don’t have one. It always amazes me how people have a crush on someone they know nothing about. I’m not attracted to appearance but mostly to a character so no celebrity crushes here ;).

My nominees:
Mylifefourtyforblog

anyone who wants to do this tag 😉

The questions I’d like to see you answer

  3. What is your biggest fear?
  4. What is your favorite fantasy creature?

Liebster award

I’ve been nominated for yet another on of these awards. This time I’ll be doing the Liebster award for which I was nominated by Karissa Jacksn. She has an amazing blog (and a great sense of fashion!). You can check her blog out by clicking on the link.

What is this?
Liebster is the German word for dearest, nicest or beloved. It is a recognition award for bloggers who are nominated by other bloggers, and it allows you to ask fun questions to get to know everyone.

Rules I made some alterations because I could!
-Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you. – Karisa Jacksn thank you for this award!
-Answer the 11 questions given by the blogger
-Nominate 11 other bloggers
-Ask 11 new questions for them to answer

Questions I received

Where is your favorite hangout spot?
This sounds dorky but I’m going to say the library. I like the silence and the peace and being surrounded by books.

What reminds you most of your childhood?
Eating a toast sandwich with tomatoes in. We used to eat these and I remember hating them back then but I’ve grown to love cheese toast with tomatoes in.

What is your favorite candy?
I love twizzlers and sour rolls and these are the only candies that I actually like eating. I for some reason am not the biggest fan of candy.

Texting or calling? Why?
I text more so I’d say texting. Though I find that calling people is quicker and more efficient.

What is your favorite drink?
While on a ski vacation in Turkey (yes there are snowy mountains in Turkey) I drank ‘sahlep’. It’s a hot drink made of orchid flowers and topped with cinnamon. I for some reason loved this drink so much! It’s like a sweet, thickened milk and it just reminds me of winter.

If you could live on a different planet, would you do it? Why?
Heck yes! What an amazing experience that would be. Also as a medical student I must admit that it would look great on my cv.

Are you now, or were you ever afraid to go to the dentist?
Yup. I was afraid of the dentist until two years ago. Mainly because I went to student dentists and they had injected the anaesthetics on the wrong side of my mouth, on the wrong teeth multiple times causing me to be traumatized for life. Fortunatly I go to a decent dentist now so it’s all good.

Do you have any celebrity crushes?
Nope. It’s just difficult to crush on someone you don’t really know.

Did you decorate your living space? Do you like it?
I didn’t but I do like it. It’s simple, but looks neat and clean.

City or Suburb? Why?
The city, but a city in a different country. Living in the city is the best way to learn more about a new place, to learn about the people and there’s often more to do in the city than in a suburb so I would never be bored.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Stop letting people who do so little for you, define your life.

The medical tag

Since I’ve tagged people I follow, I figured that it was time to answer the questions to my own tag. I hope that it’ll will give you an image of who I am!

  1. Who are you?
My name is M. and I’m a medicine student in Europe. I’ve just started my first year in medical school.
  2. How did you come up with your blog name/username?
My blog name is Doctor in spe. The term ‘in spe’ is Latin for ‘in the future’ or ‘to be’. Since I studied Latin in high school I wanted my blog to kind of refer to that period.
  3. How would you describe your blog?
Doctorinspe is currently a mix of everything that interests me and is related to the medical field. Sometimes I like giving my opinion on a subject, sometimes I’ll write about something that’s noteworthy. It varies a lot!
  4. What made you choose the medical field?
When I was a kid I loved watching a show called ‘there ones was…’ which was a series on the human body, made for children. That show has always laid a foundation to pursue a career in medicine.
  5. What are your best tips for future medical students?
Don’t forget to enjoy medical school. There are a lot of things to do when you’re not studying so go out every once and a while and have some fun! Don’t miss out on the fun because you’re always studying!
  6. What’s your favorite quote?
Life is not the amounts of breath you take, it’s the moments that take your breath away – Will Smith.
  7. Best memory in medical school?
My best memory was getting into medical school. It was just so gratifying. I remember screaming like 5 minutes before I could process the whole thing. When I told my  brother he did the exact same thing :’).
  8. What’s one course you struggled with?
Biochemistry. Purely because I was too lazy to make time to study it (yes I have flaws too). Biochemistry is quite a detailed course and I shouldn’t have postponed it that much. You can’t start learning chapter two if you don’t know the first chapter. Biggest mistake in medical school!
  9. Name one thing you want to achieve this year.
I would like to pass all of my classes upcoming semester 🙂 but I would also love to make this blog into something that I will be proud of.
  10. What’s your favorite book?
My favorite medical related book is the emperor of all maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee. I gave a brief resume on my blog so check it out! The main reason why I liked it is because of the infinite dedication these people showed for cancer research. The world needs more people like that!
  11. What do you do in your free time?
I blog whenever I find some time and I love watching movies and series. My current favorite series is Grimm and the best movie I watched last month was Sing.
  12. What do you want to major in?
I have no idea and I don’t even worry about that right now. I still have 6 more years to go so I’ll figure that out along the way ;).
  13. How do you study productively?
I’m currently using flashcards which helps me a lot! I also use the My homework application to track all of my tasks.
  14. How do you stay motivated in medical school?
Thinking about that beautiful white coat everytime I can.
  15. Who do you look up to?
I would like to name a scientist or someone who has done something extraordinary but I look up to my family. My mom dad and brother have supported me so much and I look up to them because of that

I hope you enjoyed this article! Let me know in the comment section if you’re going to do the medical tag :).
